Eliza grew up in the small seaside town of Kennebunkport, Maine. Lamenting cold, harsh winters she took the chance to fly south for undergraduate school. Eliza attended a small liberal arts college called Elon University in North Carolina where she studied Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Spanish. During her studies of human anatomy, Eliza fell in love with medicine. She became a teaching assistant in the human cadaver lab and began her journey towards clinical practice. After college, Eliza became both a psychiatric technician and an EMT, working on ambulances serving rural Maine.
Starting in 2016, she was accepted to graduate school across the country at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. It was during this time that Eliza met her fiance and adopted an adorable kitty named Maeby. She received her Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2018.
During Eliza’s clinical year of PA school, she spent 6 weeks under the tutelage of acclaimed plastic surgeons in Scottsdale, AZ. Plastic surgery, however, requires a level of surgical expertise that can only be attained through extensive hands-on training in the operating room. She chose to develop her surgical acumen in orthopedics over the course of three years. When the opportunity arose to work in plastics, she jumped at the chance and has been thriving ever since.
Under the close mentorship of Dr. Chalekson, she has built her procedural repertoire and is delighted to be able to offer plastic and reconstructive services to the gorgeous people of SLO County. She operates alongside Dr. Chalekson 2-3 days a week, in addition to performing in-office procedures, injections, and laser treatments. She has taken part in multiple hands-on injectable training courses through Allergan and RHA partners and has had extensive anatomical training which has allowed her to become a safe, skilled, and competent injector for both dermal fillers and neuromodulators.
In her free time, Eliza is a foodie and craft beer enthusiast. She also enjoys playing tennis, hiking, sewing, thrift shopping, and hanging out with her cat, Maeby.
