BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT

Your body shape occurs in a 360-degree fashion. You do not only see the front of your body. You also notice how your curves transition from your tummy or breasts to your hips to your backside. Regardless of your weight and overall contours, it is possible that your buttocks are underdeveloped in terms of volume. A flat backside can make you feel dissatisfied. Something literally is lacking in your appearance, fat!

Dr. Charles Chalekson offers extraordinary care that leads to exquisite results with various body sculpting procedures. If you are unhappy with the shape and curves of your buttocks, contact us today to schedule a consultation for a Brazillian butt lift in San Luis Obispo County.

WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?

The Brazilian butt lift, or BBL, is a fat transfer procedure that safely moves unwanted fat from one or more areas of your body to the buttocks. The goal, of course, is to make your buttocks fuller and more shapely. While we call this procedure a “lift,” the technique does not actually lift tissue in a conventional way. There is no tightening of the superficial tissue and trimming of skin as there is in other lifts, such as a thigh lift. The BBL procedure is all about the fat, where it can be harvested from, and where it can be injected into the subcutaneous buttock tissue for maximum cosmetic enhancement.

There are two aspects of the Brazilian butt lift in San Luis Obispo County. The first is to harvest fat from one or more areas of your body. It is necessary to have sufficient fatty tissue from which to draw. The harvest area is beautifully sculpted via the liposuction procedure. Fatty tissue is processed to extract pure fat cells. These cells are then injected into various regions of each buttock to achieve the desired outcome.

HOW LONG DOES A BBL TAKE?

The Brazilian butt lift process can take three to four hours. You can expect to be at the surgery center for five to six hours, though. This allows time for your surgical prep and recovery.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS OF A BBL LAST?

The fat cells that survive the transfer process are expected to remain in the recipient site (your buttocks) permanently. These fat cells act like all fat cells in your body; they will expand if you gain weight and shrink if you lose weight. Typically, we do not see much of a change in a person’s physique until they have gained or lost about 25 pounds. That said, it is beneficial to have the BBL procedure when your weight is stable.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER A BBL?

After your BBL procedure, you can expect a few common side effects. These include:

  • Discomfort in all surgical areas. Wherever the doctor has performed liposuction, you may feel sore and tender. The same goes for your buttocks.
  • Swelling. Your post-operative swelling could cause your cosmetic results to initially look asymmetrical and out of balance. As swelling subsides, you will see more of your beautiful surgical outcome.
  • Fluid drainage. It is possible to notice blood-tinged fluid drainage from your liposuction incisions. This side effect is completely normal and is expected to resolve in 24 to 48 hours.
  • Deflation. In the weeks following your San Luis Obispo County BBL, it may seem as though your results are dwindling. This is expected. Part of the settling effect is the resolution of swelling. The other part is the natural metabolism of some of the transferred fat. Because surgeons anticipate some degree of fat loss, they normally inject slightly more fat cells during this procedure.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY PROCESS LIKE?

The recovery from Brazilian butt lift surgery in San Luis Obispo County can take approximately six weeks in all. Initially, you will not be able to sit for very long; just a few minutes here and there, and always using a proper BBL recovery pillow. For the most part, you will need to remain on your side or stomach. You may return to work and light activities a week to 10 days after your procedure. Still, you must sit only on your special pillow in order to minimize the amount of pressure that is placed directly on the buttocks. Once you have fully recovered from your procedure, about eight weeks after surgery, you may begin to perform more strenuous exercise and physical activities. You may have one or more follow-up visits during your recovery period.

WHAT KIND OF SCARS WILL I HAVE?

Your BBL scars will be minimal. You can expect small incisions about one-half inch long in various places, such as within the creases of your buttocks cheeks or on the lower back area. Dr. Chalekson takes care to place incisions where they can be hidden by clothing and should be otherwise very discreet as well. Once your skin has closed, you may apply some type of scar treatment to your incision to help your skin heal optimally over time.
