It is also typically advised to arrange for someone to help you around the house or with childcare during the first few days to a week following your procedure. You will have limitations on certain strenuous activities and exercise for a few weeks.
Your breast augmentation surgery will be performed in our San Luis Obispo surgical center. For maximum comfort, you will be placed under general anesthesia. Breast augmentation typically takes approximately one hour. Dr. Chalekson will recommend the incision option that is best suited for your goals and anatomy. This might include an incision in the crease underneath your breast or along the border of the areola. Your implant will be placed either underneath your breast tissue and on top of the chest muscle, underneath your chest muscle and breast tissue, or partially under the chest muscle also called a dual plane.
You may return to work as soon as you feel able with certain limitations. However, it may take up to six weeks before you can fully resume all exercise or other strenuous activities. It is important to keep all follow-up visits with our office to ensure you are healing properly and to be advised on your specific timeline for recovery.
